Describe your current research as it relates to the study of microbial life and how you are using genomic and bioinformatic tools to answer your questions. Highlight your future research plans and how you might leverage the resources and faculty expertise offered by our department.
3. Teaching & Mentorship Philosophy (max 2 pg): Describe your teaching experience in microbiology or related areas. We typically assign one upper-level undergraduate course and one specialized graduate course to new research active faculty (1:1). What courses would you plan to offer here? What training in microbial genetics/genomics and bioinformatics can you provide for our students? Describe your mentorship philosophy and past efforts to train and mentor students. How will your research program integrate into our doctoral program (Ph.D. Aquatic Resources and Integrative Biology)?
